Round 6 of the Swiss championship was held on the permanent track of the MORC (www.morc.ch) in OberbĂĽhren. As usual both categories, amateur and expert, were raced on that weekend.
Saturday morning included two practice runs of 8 minutes to dial in the cars for the race event. Due to fog in the week before the race, the track became humid. Therefore most drivers were fighting with under steer and traction roll.

Qualification included four heats with the fastest run counting to determine the qualifying position. As the track began to dry, it became obvious that either the third or the fourth run will decide the starting order for Sunday.
Our XB808 seemed to workout quite good all day long. From run to run minor changes in the setup brought up the necessary improvements. My changes included the increase of rear toe-in from 3.5° to 4°. Consequently the car became more stable in the turn leading to the big jump. Furthermore I changed the front springs from silver to light blue improving the carâ™s overall handling and making it easier to control. In the evening we found ourselves directly qualified for the semi finals as follows: P3 Robin Frischkopf, P8 Marc Heim.

On Sunday afternoon we finally ran our 20 minutes semis and found ourselves both in the final and among the Top 5! In the following 30 minute final run Robin and his crew were unlucky during the second pit stop. Their fuel gun was leaking and when they finally managed to get fuel in the cars tank the engine starved and flamed out. As a consequence he unfortunately finished 12th.
My race was pretty uneventful and clean. Twice we even managed to lead the race for several laps. Unfortunately, I was hindered during lapping some back markers. Therefore Philippe Lachat caught me up and won the race ahead of Jeremy Pittet and myself.

Nevertheless I was very happy with my performance and I would like to thank Team XRAY, HUDY and the Swiss distributor of XRAY/HUDY for their great support during this season. Finally Iâ™d like to thank my pit crew without their help this season wouldnâ™t have ended so successfully!
